Three days, two ridges, fifteen years. Press play for the two-minute tour of the trip — what you will hear, where to tap, and how it all works with no bars on the phone.
The official threshold where highway driving gives way to Shenandoah foothills. Savor their signature apple butter pulled pork BBQ sandwich with cider slaw on the front porch rocking chairs, followed by hot cinnamon cider donuts.
Unload bags, boil the kettle, and step onto the deck. Zero schedule for the next hour—listen to the mountain breeze and settle into the weekend.
Staunton's architectural gem. Preserved 19th-century storefronts, indie bookstores, artisan fair-trade goods, and modern cider taprooms along sloping sidewalks.
Staunton's premier farm-to-table Southern fine dining along historic Beverley Street. Cast iron sweet cornbread with Concord grape butter, Autumn Olive Farms pork belly, local pan-seared mountain trout, and craft cocktails.
The quintessential parallel play morning. Dramatic jagged rocks tower directly above a peaceful 1890s Appalachian mountain farmstead.

Deep leather sofas, wood-burning hearths, covered verandas, and panoramic vistas looking straight up at the Blue Ridge foothills. Top-tier Virginia wines.
Atmospheric tavern dining inside a restored 1890s flour mill, located just 350 feet (a 2-minute walk) from the Ghost Tour meeting garage. Famed fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs, local trout, and warm skillet apple crisp.
A guided evening walking tour through Staunton's historic downtown, covering ghost stories and dark history. Meet at the City Parking Garage beside the former Stonewall Jackson Hotel.
The largest antique mall in America. Completely climate-controlled, dry, and flat for slow, nostalgic indoor treasure hunting across mid-century and Appalachian relics.
Bypass interstate semi-truck traffic. Head into historic Crozet for lunch at Historic Crozet Pizza or Chiles Orchard Cafe, grab frozen apple cider slushies and pumpkin butter, then cruise scenic Route 29 through rolling Warrenton horse country.
